  • Overview



    The Systems Engineer is responsible for the day to day life-cycle support and maintenance of all storage, compute and virtualization technology infrastructure at Fiserv Forum and Bucks’ branch sties.  In addition, the Systems Engineer shall work with teammates, vendors, and 3rd party subject matter experts to plan, install, configure, test, and tune technology infrastructure. The Systems Engineer performs a wide variety of technical duties which include, but are not limited to training, project management, design, implementation, documentation, maintenance, problem diagnosis, root cause analysis, and repair of all systems hardware and software. This position may require from time to time, network and cyber security skills. Fiserv Forum technology supports live sports and entertainment events and thus the Systems Engineer may need to be onsite to support Bucks basketball games, Marquette basketball games, concerts and other special events.


    Specific Duties and Responsibilities:


    • Configure, implement, troubleshoot, and maintain storage, compute, virtualization and back-office application software using industry best practices. 
    • Support business software systems as required, including but not limited to Point-of-Sale, access control, ticketing, mobile application, loyalty, digital signage, and centralized monitoring software.
    • Assist and support other team members in resolving any operation issues that impact clients.
    • Work with various 3rd parties to facilitate, manage, and execute any sports, entertainment and other commercial event OT/IS requirements.
    • Monitor systems via logs and other tools to mitigate and trend potential issue or threat.
    • Track and document changes with proper Visio diagrams and spreadsheets.
    • Participation in root cause analysis and post mortem processes with various OT/IS groups and 3rd parties.
    • Participate in an on-call rotation, work off-hours, work extended hours and participate in a 24/7 on-call schedule as directed.
    • Help set up, test, support and tear down basketball game technology infrastructure.


    Qualification Requirements:


    • A minimum education of Associate’s Degree and/or Technical Certification. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
    • Hands-on experience supporting and troubleshooting Network Attached Storage (Isilon), SAN (HPE 3Par), Virtualization (VMWare) or similar infrastructure. Certifications in these areas preferred.
    • Thorough understanding of and some experience in IP, Ethernet, Wi-Fi networking, and Cyber Security.
    • Minimum of 2 years related work experience.
    • Excellent time management skills and planning skills.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including network documentation with MS Visio.
    • Strong cognitive understanding and development of policy and repeatable procedures.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Strong desire to learn new technologies and expand technical skills.
    • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions such as heat, cold, dust, and wind.
    • Possess the ability to rack, stack, lift Technology equipment up to 50 pounds.
