The Mascot Coordinator is a world-class performer and ambassador for our G-League Team (Wisconsin Herd) in-arena and out in the community. You will be responsible for working both Herd games during the season, various events as booked by the Herd, and any additional requested appearances throughout the year. Final selection will be determined through a detailed audition, interview sessions, and a screening process at the Wisconsin Herd office.



Key Responsibilities

  • Game night responsibilities – Yes
  • Approximate number of games worked per season – ALL HOME GAMES
  • Event responsibilities – 150 – 200 per year
  • Lead all aspects of Team mascot program including all variations of character (Air Pointer, etc.) Perform as mascot at Team home games, community, and Team events as required.
  • Actively contribute to goals of Game Operations department and entire organization to promote Team throughout community from branding, ticket sales, corporate sales, community relations, and publicity standpoint.
  • Represent Team and mascot in professional, appropriate manner at all times inside and outside costume.
  • Adhere to all mascot performance guidelines and protocols, including maintaining and developing Pointer’s identity
  • Build new entertainment and sustain past successes for use at performances, including on-court skits/dances/stunts, pre-taped videos, in-stands interaction & improvisation, and off-site event entertainment.
  • Develop and direct revenue programs for mascot assets.
  • Work with Director of Game Operations to create a memorable and world class experience for fans at all home games, and at all events.
  • Schedule, manage rehearsals, workouts, practice sessions, and any other extra-curricular activities pertaining to mascot. Maintain skills and physical fitness through participation in such activities. Maintain Mascot costume, through cleaning and repairs, as needed.
  • Work with supervisor as advised to maintain mascot budget, and help research and purchase props, and other Game Operation’s needs.
  • Collaborate with Milwaukee Bucks and Wisconsin Herd organizations to develop new insights and projects, utilizing mascot program to enhance other departments and own program’s success.
  • Assist Director of Marketing & Digital in maintaining mascot website and other social media outlets including but not limited to: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok.
  • Respond to fan mail, emails and other mascot and Game Operation requests.
  • Regularly attend and contribute to department meetings, providing creative input, ideas, brainstorming, and upcoming ventures.



  • Professional or collegiate mascot experience preferred.
  • College degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Gymnastics, dance, stunt skills and acrobatic dunking experience strongly recommended.
  • Other skills (juggling, uni-cycling, tumbling, belaying, dancing, stilt-walking, etc...) considered a bonus.
  • Ability to excite, empower, and entertain crowds. Great sense of humor a must.
  • Proficient at relating and engaging with various personalities & actions, especially children.
  • Must possess an outstanding level of teamwork, creativity, energy and spontaneity.
  • Meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Possess strong organizational & time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on business writing.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision, be self-directed and demonstrate initiative.
  • Excellent ability to establish rapport with others and build strong interpersonal relationships
  • Availability and willingness to work extended hours, including nights and weekends and accommodate occasional flexible scheduling (be on-call as necessary)
  • Solid understanding of NBA and the Wisconsin Herd a plus


Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • While performing duties of job, employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use handle or feel, reach stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear.
  • Extreme athletic fitness and ability level required.
  • Must be able to withstand and perform within extreme heat conditions, restrictive outfits, and impaired vision.
  • Ability to perform on feet in mentioned conditions for at least three hours at a time.
  • Must be able to run up and down stairs several times during a game.
  • Nature of the position requires unlimited physical mobility and the ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
